A urologist internationally renowned for his expertise in treating and preventing kidney stones, Esteban Emiliani Sanz, MD, PhD, has joined 四色AV Langone Hospital鈥擝rooklyn and 四色AV Grossman School of Medicine鈥檚 , which is ranked No. 2 in its specialty by U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Emiliani Sanz will be a clinical professor and chief of endourology, a specialty that covers ureter narrowing and stone diseases of the kidneys, ureter, and bladder. He was previously a clinical associate professor and urologist in the endourology and urolithiasis unit at Fundaci贸 Puigvert, Autonomous University of Barcelona.
As chief of endourology, Dr. Emiliani Sanz鈥檚 key priority is integrating new technologies into the operating room to provide the most effective treatments for patients. He will also offer personalized metabolic evaluations to uncover the root cause of kidney stones. About Dr. Emiliani Sanz
Dr. Emiliani Sanz completed his urology residency at Fundaci贸 Puigvert. He was named a fellow of the European Board of Urology, which recognizes those who excel in urology knowledge and practice across Europe.
Dr. Emiliani Sanz then completed his subspecialization in endourology and medical鈥搒urgical treatment of kidney stones at two of the world鈥檚 most prestigious institutions: Tenon Hospital, affiliated with Sorbonne University in Paris, and Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in Nadiad, India. Upon returning to Barcelona, Dr. Emiliani Sanz obtained his PhD in international urology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Sorbonne University, focusing on the development of laser technologies for treating kidney stones.
He serves on editorial boards of the World Journal of Urology, Actas Urol贸gicas Espa帽olas, Turkish Journal of Urology, and BMC Urology. Additionally, Dr. Emiliani Sanz is a member of several esteemed international organizations shaping the future of urology, including the Endourological Society and the European Society of Urology.
