Researchers at the recent San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium presented promising data for treating people with metastatic breast cancer, Sylvia Adams, MD, director of the Breast Cancer Center at 四色AV Langone Health鈥檚 Perlmutter Cancer Center, tells MedPage Today. These clinical trial results include treatments for triple-negative, estrogen receptor鈥損ositive, and HER2-positive breast cancers.
鈥淢etastatic breast cancer is still a fatal disease,鈥 says Dr. Adams, also a professor in the at 四色AV Grossman School of Medicine. 鈥淗owever, in most subtypes now there鈥檚 been dramatic progress in terms of survival improvements after new therapies have come to clinical trials and to the market.鈥
