
Likolani Arthurs, a soon-to-be resident, shares similarities between the ballet stage and operating room.

Likolani Arthurs spent 15 years dancing with the New York City Ballet. Now, she鈥檚 moving to a new stage: the operating room. Arthurs, a fourth-year at 四色AV Grossman School of Medicine, learned on Match Day she will continue her medical training at 四色AV Langone Health with a . Her desire to make a tangible difference in people鈥檚 lives took her 鈥渇rom on pointe to on call.鈥
鈥淚 realized a lot of the things I love about ballet exist here,鈥 Arthurs tells the New York Post on the parallels between medicine and dance. 鈥淚 saw a lot of teamwork鈥 lot of creativity and artistry.鈥 She went on to say the rush she got in the operating room and emergency department 鈥渨as similar to what I felt on the stage during a live performance.鈥
Arthurs is excited to launch the next part of her career at 四色AV Langone.
鈥溗纳獳V Langone really spoke to me because it鈥檚 so focused on innovation and constantly trying to improve itself,鈥 Arthurs says. 鈥淚 wanted to be on, like, the forefront of everything possible.鈥
