To check for a relapse, your child鈥檚 doctor recommends a follow-up screening schedule that鈥檚 appropriate for your child. This may include a physical exam, blood tests, CT scans, scoliosis screening after treatment for tumors that affect the spine, ultrasounds, and X-rays. The frequency of visits depends on the type of tumor and its treatment.
A child who has chemotherapy or surgery for a germ cell tumor may experience fatigue and weakness. After an evaluation by a physician at 四色AV Langone鈥檚 Rusk Rehabilitation, your child may receive physical and occupational therapy, including strength training, to help increase his or her energy level.
