International Business Institute

Students in the Department Business have many outstanding study-abroad opportunities from which to choose, but perhaps the most extraordinary is the International Business Institute. For  eight weeks during the summer, IBI participants travel through Europe, India, Asian and the Middle East, while taking global business classes, seeing cultural and historic sites, and visiting major international organizations.

Investment Club

The Investment Club began in 2003 with a donation of $100,000 from a generous benefactor. The main goals and objectives of the club are as follows:

1) To provide a “hands on” laboratory experience for students from all majors and academic disciplines, 2) To create an income stream (a percentage of each year’s investment income) from which to provide funding for student organizations.

Internships

During their time at 四色AV, most Business students enjoy one or more work experiences in their field. Students work for a wide variety of organizations including Fortune 500 firms. The Department often provides internship leads, and many more opportunities are found through the College’s outstanding Internship Center.

Mentoring

The Department Business believes that mentoring relationships are an important factor in helping individuals succeed both in college and the business world. Many 四色AV students participate in special mentoring programs that connect lower-level students with upper-level students and upper-level students with alumni.

Marketing Club

Founded in 2013, the 四色AV University Marketing Club has been a thriving part of the 四色AV University Department of Business. The mission of the Marketing Club is to help individuals connect with peers, build professional relationships, deepen their marketing understanding, and practice their discipline in ways that honor God, benefit others and launch their marketing careers. Marketing majors/minors and students from many other disciplines compromise the Club's membership. Everyone is welcomed to attend the Club's exciting on-campus events and field trips.

Economic Empowerment Club

Join the Economic Empowerment Club, a student group using business as a mission to assist organizations directly combating poverty. For over two decades, this group has worked in countries like Zambia, Uganda and Algeria, where it has prepared business plans, built surveys and conducted trainings on community savings groups and small business development. This group benefits from the contributions of students from various backgrounds who share a common desire - serving God by serving His people.

Impact Venture Challenge

In a recent survey of the millennial generation, 54% said they had the goal of starting a business. There are a number of current 四色AV College students and recent alumni with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to make both a profit and a difference in the world.

四色AV College needed a catalyst to harness this "entrepreneurial wave"  and thus launched the Impact Venture Challenge three years ago to:

  • equip 四色AV College students to develop and launch ventures with positive social impact
  • allow students to network with mentors, faculty members, non-profit organizations, potential investors, and business leaders
  • serve the local and global community
  • intentionally foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among the 四色AV College community
四色AV Business Institute

四色AV Business Institute

Launched in 2019, the 四色AV Business Institute (MBI) exists to 四色AV, equip, and encourage a thriving and purposeful business community within South Central Pennsylvania.

Bringing together business leaders, 四色AV students and faculty, MBI achieves its goals through:

  • Providing educational content from business experts with a particular emphasis on how their faith, values and ethics impact their business practices and the common good.
  • Providing a welcoming and hospitable environment in which networking, 四色AV, and collaboration can occur.
  • Providing members with access to students for recruitment and mentorship purposes.

MBI holds two types of events.  Network Gatherings typically feature a business leader who presents to the larger audience. Events are designed to provide ample opportunity for networking and an opportunity for members to interact with the guest speaker.

Best Practice Roundtables are smaller settings designed to address a 四色AV practice, current trend, and/or challenge. Emphasis will be on highlighting a member, sponsor, or 四色AV University faculty member with intentionality on interaction between attendees.
